Here I am with my husband Al, this year we will be celebrating our 40THwedding anniversary. We live in Southern California which gives us the opportunity to enjoy many activities together. We enjoy the outdoors and the many options California has to offer. We are registered with the Boy Scouts of America, as well as the Girl Scouts of America, and have been for over 25 years. These organizations have given us the opportunity to meet some very diverse and wonderful individuals, as well as broaden our activities.

About 10 years ago our daughter Julie introduced us to the world of Shar-Pei's by buying Tuj's Kibbitzer of J-Ju "Kibbie" who unfortunately passed away in 1998. With the addition of "Kibbie" came a surprising gift. At a show in Long Beach, California I was offered my boy Chinese Checkers  "Checkers" or as my daughter fondly calls him "the Oaf". And so my journey and love for Shar-Pei's began. 

This Year "Checkers" Turned 10 years old, and is as healthy and happy as the day he joined our family. Checkers has taken his (CSPCA) Chinese Shar-Pei club of America's Championship. He used to love the ring and strutting his stuff, but these days he simply struts his stuff as he walks to his food dish to show us he still has what it takes. Checkers comes from a long line of Champions and today his Grandfather at the age of 15yrs. continues to breed and produces still more champions. Checkers breeder Lynn Olds of LAVA Kennels continues to produce sound dogs with excellent movement, conformation, and Longevity due to a very skillful breeding program.

Among our many activities we also enjoy spending time with our 4 grandchildren Jerrid, Jenna,little Alexa (Lexy), and our newest addition Joshua. We see Jerrid and Lexy often as they are here in California with us,  and  we manage to fly to Ohio to Visit our son Stephen, his wife Allison, Jenna and Joshua at least once a year.
